JobID: 322 Position Type: High School Teaching/CTE Director Date Posted: 2/5/2024 Location: Tanque Verde High School Tanque Verde High School is seeking a CTE Director for school year 2024-2025.
This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position.
The Career & Technical Education Director will work with high school administrators, teachers and other directors to develop Career & Technical Education programs that prepare students for work and/or future education upon graduation.
Assists in building to ensure a strong learning culture that aligns with the district mission and vision.
Plans, implements, maintains and evaluates viable programs of Career & Technical Education programs.
The Career & Technical Education Director will be responsible for the management, administration and accountability of the Career & Technical Education programs at Tanque Verde High School.
Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares and manages Career & Technical Education budgets and funding sources Oversees and verifies grant compliance Secures additional revenues to support Career & Technical Education programs and applied academic programs Directs the activities necessary to manage and develop new Career & Technical Education programs for the District Compiles and submits all reports required by the District and the Arizona Department of Education Develops and maintains support systems necessary to meet the needs of all students enrolled in Career & Technical Education programs by working with appropriate lead people Works with others to align and integrate academic standards into Career & Technical Education programs Maintains continuous program improvement, to include opportunities for dual enrollment and other partnerships to strengthen post-secondary transition Researches, procures, designs, and maintains industry-standard facilities, equipment, and technology Supervises and evaluates all Career & Technical Education support staff Acts as liaison for the District in working with Joint Technical Education District and program development Complies by all state, federal and local legislative mandates for Career & Technical Education Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of state, federal and local legislative mandates for Career & Technical Education.
Knowledge of District and Department policies and procedures.
Knowledge of student career development and the needs of special populations.
Knowledge of local, state and national labor market information as it affects program improvement.
Skill in working with community, business and industry.
Skill in grant writing and grant management.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Skill in program and staff leadership and development Skill in the administration and management of a Career & Technical Education program.
Skill in facilitating solutions to district and departmental problems.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, tact and diplomacy in a variety of situations.
Ability to analyze, interpret and report research findings and make appropriate recommendations to management level personnel.
Ability to make independent and discretionary judgments on personnel matters within policy guidelines.
Ability to provide leadership and coordinate and direct the activities of administrative and clerical staff.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work with diverse groups, and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree, preferably in school administration A minimum of five years of experience at a high school, preferably in administration A minimum of three years teaching or counseling experience Arizona Administrator Certification.
Career & Technical Education experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Must meet Arizona State Department of Education requirements in respective subjects such as: Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language.
Possess a valid Arizona Teaching Certificate and a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Proof of completion of Structured English Immersion provisional endorsement criteria.
Any equivalent combination of training, education or experience that meets the minimum qualifications and state certification requirements will be accepted.
