Yard Manager - Construction

*YARD MANAGER* – Meridian Engineering, Tucson *SUMMARY:* The Yard Manger assists and supports Central Resource Manager, Dispatch, Foreman Transport and Hot Shot drivers at the South Yard in Tucson and *MUST HAVE VERIFIABLE EXPERIENCE WITH CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS HANDLING.
*The Yard Manager performs routine daily activities related to the overall organization of the company yard and day-to-day support of ongoing crew operations.
The Yard Manager must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong written and verbal communication and organization skills.
*KEY INTERFACACES:* Dispatch, Central Resources Manager, Transport and Hot Shot drivers *Essential Duties and Responsibilities* * Manage & Organize equipment & materials in yard * Inventory Bulk Materials weekly * Receive, and store bulk materials properly * Load materials * Organize & Maintain cleanliness of Yard * Daily yard Safety Inspections * Oversee material waste and dumpster pickups * Deliveries to jobsites when needed *Essential Job Qualifications* *REQUIRED SKILLS:* Ability to work in the outdoor environment for prolonged periods of time.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; broad understanding of industry; good time management & organization skills; ability to function effectively as part of a team; dependable; ability to understand and follow directions.
Driver's License and clean driving record *PREFERRED SKILLS:* Experience in Shop or Yard Management, Construction knowledge, prior forklift certification is a plus, experience and ability to drive some Construction equipment and pull a trailer with a pick up truck.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:* This position requires strong organizational skills and experience in the Construction industry is a plus.
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS:* To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to frequently lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and spend extensive time outdoors.
