Job Summary: The individual will work closely with other Lab Managers, Engineering staff, and Technicians within the Digital, RF & Power Products Team to ensure the directorate’s Engineering Labs operate within established company policy and provide hardware development support to program teams.
This position works closely with all levels of leadership in multiple organizations as well as managing lab utilization across various projects.
As a member of the team, this position will lead day-to-day operation requirements in an Engineering Lab, with particular focus on compliance, improvement, and program support.
The Lab Manager owns the quality and performance of the Effector RF and Communication Department’s Engineering Labs.
Audits may include but are not limited to: Environmental Health and Safety, Security, 7S, Lab Quality, Customer, and Equipment.
Responsibilities to Anticipate: Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies.
Management, coordination and implementation of Environment Health and Safety standards.
Ensure company and customer owned property is properly tracked, managed, and calibrated.
Maintains and improves the lab access list and training matrices, ensuring all personnel entering the labs are properly trained and cleared.
Uphold company policies and practices to ensure compliance and provide a safe and secure lab environment.
A proactive role in developing, understanding, and implementing common lab processes, tools, templates, and metrics.
Communicates issues and opportunities for improvement to team members and management.
Oversee audit assessment preparation; Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Factory & Lab Assessment reviews; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives.
Safeguarding of classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations.
Lead by example through respect, diversity and inclusion, and ethical conduct within the organization.
Basic Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years’ prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience managing compliance and processes in an Engineering or similar environment.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.
S.
government issued security clearance is required.
U.
S.
citizenship is required, as only U.
S.
citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chemical handling, metrology, and property control requirements and processes.
Possess strong organizational, coordination, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Exemplary oral communication and interpersonal/human relations skills.
Have situational awareness, strong emotional intelligence, and be able to effectively work multiple projects simultaneously with diverse groups and customers.
Leadership skills and willingness to make decisions and embrace change.
Experience developing solutions and maintaining audit readiness procedures and goals for an organization.
Experience with working directly with engineers, technicians, and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance, and property management.
Experience with EHS, NISPOM, and Foreign Object Elimination processes.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience.
Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
