Job Description:
To ensure all guests are greeted and seated in a friendly and courteous manner using appropriate procedures, in accordance with Omni Standards.
To handle all payment transactions for all foods and/or beverages purchased in the hotel's restaurants.
Responsibilities:
Answering phone correctly and politely
Takes reservations as needed and enters into Open Table correctly according to training guidelines
Greeting guests and seat guests
Keep host stand clean and organized
Control heavy volume at Restaurant entrance
Knowledge of hotel property.
Inform the guest about daily features and menu items
Knowledge of Bobs concept and menu
Attend to and anticipate guest’s needs
Familiarization with menu and know how to properly take to go orders as needed
Follow server rotation, seating and informing servers with chits correctly
Inform manager of all potential issues or complaints immediately
Provide nightly guest tracking to manager prior to leaving
Create and maintain a positive working environment amongst front door staff
Communicate positively and effectively with management and wait staff
Coordinate daily dining room setup
Distribute chits pre-opening for large party table setup
Communicate large party layouts and special requirements to servers, management, and kitchen
Operate OpenTable reservation system accurately and efficiently
Gather VIP contact information
Distribute VIP chits to server, manager, kitchen
Assign tables to servers pre-shift and during the shift
Coordinate on-call servers on a daily basis with management
Coordinate large party assignments with management
Ensure that all reservations are confirmed on a daily basis
Compile the Nightly Reservation Log with large parties, server assignments, special requests, VIPs
Ensure Daily Features are posted outside Bob’s entrance and server’s version are printed/cut
Qualifications:
Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, members, management, and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
Must have strong attention to detail as well as prior customer service experience/skills.
Must agree and adhere to compensation acknowledgment and tip reporting guidelines.
Must have and maintain current Food Handlers and TIPS certifications.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be very organized, and multi-task.
Must be able to work flexible shift including nights, weekends, and holidays
MICROS Experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift.
Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects of moderate weight without assistance.
