Responsibilities:
Assists physicians, nurses, and other medical staff by performing administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
Clinical duties include: phlebotomy, preparing treatment room for patient exams, recording patient medical history, obtaining patient vital signs, and cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment.
Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Phlebotomy - Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticks.
Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures, and observing isolation procedures.
Prepares lab order for collection, safely performs venipuncture, prepares and processes specimens in preparation for transportation to outside laboratory for full processing.
Ensures safe patient transition from venipuncture to departure from clinic.
Accurately tracks pending and final laboratory results and communicates with physician and other medical team members.

Clinical Duties - Interacts with patients and staff on a regular basis providing outstanding guest service.
Responsible for rooming patients for physician appointments, obtaining and recording accurate vital signs, medication and allergy information, reporting patient concerns to physician, and answering basic patient medical questions, as appropriate per scope.
Updates medical record, as appropriate.
Uses best clinical judgement to escalate medical or other concerns appropriately to physician and/or nursing team.
Assists physicians and nurses with medical procedures, administers injections and medication at the direction of the physician.
Provides educational materials and directions for sleep screening testing and CGM devices.
Applies CGM devices as needed.

Administrative - Performs quality control on medical equipment, assists with tracking and ordering of medical supplies.
Communicates with outside pharmacy staff regarding physician prescriptions, refill information, patient insurance, etc.
Assists with scheduling of outside, specialty medical appointments such as MRIs, CT scans, etc.
Completes referrals to outside physicians and clinics, at the direction of the physician.
Cross-trains to provide clinic front desk coverage, as needed.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role you will need 1-2 years previous experience in same or related field.
Proficient skills in Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, telephone and organizational skills.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
