This position is responsible for the management and operations of the school library.
The Teacher/Librarian will work with students, teachers, and administrators to support the educational mission of the school and promote reading and literacy.
This position will teach 1 or 2 classes to be determined by the site Principal.
This position is full time and benefit eligible.
This is for SY 23/24.
Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the library’s collection of books, magazines, and other resources.
Lead instructional classes for one to two classes, as determined by the site Principal.
Select and purchase new materials that support the curriculum and interests of students and faculty.
Create and maintain an online catalog of library materials and resources.
Assist students and faculty in finding and using materials for research and learning.
Provide instruction in information literacy and research skills.
Develop and deliver programming that promotes reading and literacy.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate library resources in the curriculum.
Manage the library budget and make purchasing decisions based on the needs of the school.
Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the students and faculty.
Stay up-to-date with new technologies and resources that can enhance the library’s offering.
Committment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education and the work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of library science principles and practices.
Knowledge of current and emerging technologies used in libraries.
Knowledge of best practices for library instruction and information literacy.
Knowledge of relevant curriculum standards and educational trends in K-12 education.
Knowledge of database management and cataloging system.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and administrators.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage library resources and services.
Excellent writing and grammar skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to foster a love of reading and learning among students.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic educational environment.
Ability to use technology tools and resources to support library operations and instruction.
Ability to collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom instruction.
Ability to design and deliver library instruction and information literacy programs.
Ability to make strategic purchasing decisions.

Ability to adapt to changing technologies and evolving educational practices.

Minimum Qualifications: Must maintain valid and current Arizona Teaching Certification.
Must hold a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Any equivalent combination of training, education or experience that meets the minimum qualifications and state certification requirements will be accepted.
