* * Location: *BIE TOHONO O'ODHAM HIGH SCHOOL SELLS AZ 85634 * * Schedule: *9 days per month * *JOB OVERVIEW: * The consultant shall work with the high school math and science teacher to provide onsite training, including both instructional coaching and instructional modeling, assisting the teachers in successfully completing the proscribe tasks outlined in the contract.
The consultant will work with the math teacher one and one-half days (1.
5) per week and the science teacher one and one-half days (1.
5) days a week.
The consultant will work with the math teacher on Monday and with the science teacher on Wednesday.
Friday, the consultant will work with both teachers from 1:00-4:00 *PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * * Math PD Plan The consultant will provide training enabling the teacher to make mark improvement on the listed Tasks.
* Task 1: Provide onsite training and concrete steps/goals in lesson plan development with a focus on increasing student learning and engagement during instructional periods.
o Provide onsite training and concrete steps/goals based on based on Savvas EnVision lessons.
* ♣ Includes voc * ♣ Explanation of why problems are chosen to demonstrate to students * ♣ Explanation of why problems/exercises are assigned to students.
* ♣ Prompts to ensure student comprehension o Provide teachers with training and concrete steps/goals following EnVision pacing plan over the course of the school year.
o Provide onsite training and concrete steps/goals for using instructional time to assist students in small groups and individually.
o Provide on-site training to support the core math program – EnVision Math 2000 and the Empower Math Kits through modeling and coaching.
* Task 2: Provide onsite training and concrete steps in the effective use of anchor charts o Electronic anchor charts using the Promethean boards- making sure to save and post on Schoology for students to revisit.
o Using the Promethean board to save example problems completed and post to Schoology for later student use.
* Task 3: Provide training and concrete steps/goals to increase student engagement in class o Provide teachers with training and concrete steps/goals to increase student active participation and learning during instructional time.
o Use of group work, partner work, and power plays in all classes o Limit direction to 15-20 minutes per class unless clear justification is written in the lesson plan.
* Task 4: Provide training and concrete steps/goals for accurate student learning assessments o Provide teacher training and concrete steps/goals regarding research- based grading policies and student assessment practices.
o Provide teachers with training and concrete steps/goals on assessment to reflect accurate student learning levels in Schoology o Provide teacher training and concrete steps/goals to provide increased remediation opportunities, both in and out of class, for students not at grade level while still following the required pacing plan.
o Provide Teacher training and concrete steps/goals on how to incorporate Schoology as an educational tool in class and assessments.
* Task 5: Provide training and support to ensure all steps/goals are mastered by the teacher.
