JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Engineer will work as part of the Product Engineering team to maintain and extend the functionality of products in the Simpleview Portfolio.
This will include coding defect corrections as well as new enhancements to the core product as well as contributing to any new product or platform development.
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding technical, and problem-solving skills, as well as proven systems analysis, design experience, and excellent communication skills.
The position also requires successful collaboration with all stakeholders within Simpleview.
RESPONSIBILITIES: All members of the Engineering organization must strive to exemplify Simpleview's employee guidelines and corporate values (Hard Work, Working Smart, People, Communications, and Environment) Learn and understand the functionality of Simpleview products such as Simpleview CRM, the Simpleview CMS, Extranet, and others Work with other team members to investigate and evaluate innovative design approaches for new development efforts Work with team members to maintain and enhance key product and system features Design, develop, and unit test applications and features based on functional requirements supplied by Product Management Work closely with the Quality Assurance resources to validate test approaches and design test plans for new development efforts Participate in peer reviews of solution designs and related code Package and support the development of code releases SVN Participate in Scrum ceremonies Generate technical documentation for assigned tasks and development efforts Professionally represent Simpleview at external functions, networking events, and client demonstration meetings Adhere to companies' coding standards and development best practices Proactively integrate feedback from code reviews and one's peers Provide scope and time estimates on tasks for capacity planning Contribute to and manage standards and processes for agile delivery operations As a technical expert, coach, and mentor to fellow engineers, demonstrate technical expertise in solving challenging programming and design problems Build and maintain healthy working relationships with your team, peers, and others Work cross-functionally with various teams including, Product Management, QA, other product lines and/or business units to drive results Ensure architectural and code consistency as well as future maintainability of the codebase Maintain a broad knowledge of current and future product features Assist in risk identification, management, and mitigation Assist in the collection and documentation of user requirements, development of user stories, estimates, and work plans Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: At least 7+ years' work experience in software design and development or a Computer Science related degree 6+ years’ experience with CFML (ColdFusion/Lucee/Railo) Experience upgrading an enterprise system from ColdFusion to Lucee is highly desirable Troubleshooting application performance and stability within a Java runtime (JRun, Tomcat) Understanding complex SQL, query writing, and data manipulation Use of Git, SVN, or alternative source control systems Docker and Kubernetes experience in a cloud environment is highly desirable Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) is a plus Experience with Jira, SCRUM/Agile development, and release management a plus Strong foundation and working knowledge of coding best practices and design patterns Passion for solving challenges demonstrates innovative thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent written and oral communication skills WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Professionals with solid skills and solid principles People who know the web like an old friend Employees who thrive on problem solving and figuring things out Someone other people want to work with (organized, easy-going, non-toxic) WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU: Fulfilling work at a company that makes an impact in hundreds of communities across the globe The ability to set a career trajectory and move along a growth path Great co-workers, including geeks, parents, artists, gamers, veterans and average joes and janes Most positions are based at our Tucson, AZ, or Liverpool, UK headquarters offices.
