We are currently developing applications on the Django framework in the Python language and Vue.
js.
We host our applications in Docker containers running in Dokku in AWS.
We also take advantage of serverless application stacks utilizing AWS services.
This position will work as a member of a development team responsible for creating and maintaining applications that simplify departmental tasks.
This position will work closely with the Systems team that maintains and upgrades the production and test environments as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities Programming: Code, test, debug, and document software programs.
Maintain and enhance existing programs.
Work with different teams to build and update software.
Change software based on specific instructions and needs.
Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
System Logic Analysis: Analyze existing system logic difficulties and documentation.
Identify areas for improvement and propose revisions.
Ensure system logic aligns with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Document system changes and maintain accurate records.
May suggest revisions to improve system logic.
Application Development: Plan, design, and create applications and software solutions.
Utilize appropriate software engineering processes to create high-quality software.
Coordinate with project teams to deliver innovative and efficient solutions.
Research and Fact-Finding: Conduct basic research and fact-finding activities.
Gather information to support the development and modification of information systems.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
User Experience Modeling: Create and model the end user experience.
Emphasize the visual design of applications for easy, efficient, and consistent user interactions.
Work with UI/UX teams to create user-friendly applications.
Coordinate with business and systems analysts and engineers to understand requirements and provide input.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming languages and concepts.
Knowledge of current and emerging application programming and scripting languages and techniques.
Knowledge of current and emerging security and service protocols.
Comfortable in mixed operating environments containing Linux and Microsoft Windows.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communicates in a clear and succinct manner; effectively evaluating information.
Comfortable with directly contacting and resolving customer generated issues.
Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
Up to 1 year of relevant work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with MVC and ORM concepts.
Experience with version control.
Experience with backend frameworks such as Django, Rails, or Express.
Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.
js or React.
