The position is involved with system start-up and will document all testing procedures, as well as the training of technicians on the process.
They troubleshoot problems and make recommendations to the Sales Manager and Design Consultants to improve operations.
Customer-based activities require an individual possessing traits of decisiveness, initiative, tact, judgment, integrity, dependability and the ability to communicate in a technically credible manner.
Job-related contact can occur with all demographic groups, with most working contacts being customers and other team members.
Representative Responsibilities: Pre-Commissioning Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of installed HVAC systems to ensure they are constructed according to specifications and industry standards.
Functional Testing: Perform comprehensive functional tests on HVAC components, including mechanical and electrical systems, controls, sensors, and safety features, to verify proper operation.
Calibration and Adjustment: Calibrate and adjust HVAC equipment settings, controls, and parameters to ensure accurate and efficient performance in alignment with design specifications.
System Startup: Execute system startup procedures, ensuring all components are synchronized and functioning cohesively.
Troubleshoot and address any issues that arise during the startup phase.
Performance Verification: Test and verify the performance of HVAC systems, assessing their capacity, efficiency, temperature control, airflow, and energy consumption.
Commissioning Documentation: Document and maintain detailed records of all commissioning activities, including test results, adjustments made, and any issues resolved.
Create and keep up to date the following: Install process book, process book for startup/commissioning and Measure Quick training process.
Client Interaction: Interact professionally with clients during the commissioning process, providing insights into system functionality and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
All customer-related issues regarding installs is resolved through you.
Scheduling: Schedule any follow-up concerns with homeowners and schedule yourself to return to fix issues.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Installation Technicians, Design Consultants, and Sales Manager to ensure seamless communication and coordination throughout the commissioning process.
Quality Assurance: Enforce strict quality control measures to ensure all HVAC systems meet company standards, codes, and regulations.
Training: Stay informed about industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in HVAC systems.
Participate in training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Train lead techs to perform startup/commissioning Safety Compliance: Adhere to company safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Maintaining and improving his or her technical skills and HVACR knowledge through self-study, product seminars, corporate training and self-improvement courses.
Conducting non-installation, lead-technician level work as assigned.
Assist installs while they are on-site.
Performing periodic on-call duties, as required.
This position may be required to work afterhours and Saturdays, if needed.
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications: High school graduate and graduate of a post-secondary HVACR program.
Five or more years of successful and full-time HVACR experience, either as a service technician or installation technician Good oral and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions and to clearly communicate with residential, commercial customers, suppliers and all Green Valley Cooling & Heating Physical ability to perform all the duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances, and weather extremes found in the Arizona.
Examples include the ability to lift and carry a 75 lb.
load (of the size and shape of an item encountered on an HVACR job) a distance of 75'; carry a 75 lb.
motor up a fully extended 18' ladder.
Must not have a fear of heights (acrophobia).
Interest, initiative and ability to be trained in low-key point-of-service sales techniques, including developing sales leads, sales of unit replacements, add-on units, service contracts, etc.
Current Arizona drivers license and the ability to operate all vehicles in the corporate fleet.
Must be insurable by current Green Valley Cooling & Heating's insurance carrier EPA 608 Type II Certification, NATE Ready-to-Work and NATE Technical Certification OSHA 10 Certification We are an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
