Description: JOB SUMMARY The CSAR Subject Matter Expert (SME) has responsibility to manage cost, schedule, risk, and customer interfaces for the company’s defense contract work related to all Air National Guard Air Force Reserve (AATC) Mission Design Series (MDS) aircraft modification programs, as well as status reporting and liaison to technical teams.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the management of projects related to the modernization of all AATC MDS aircraft, including structural changes, wiring harness and electrical interfaces, software deployment and the inspections, System in the Loop (SIL), ground and flight testing necessary for military flight release.
Participating on cross functional teams including military leadership, engineering, subcontractors, and contract agencies.
Assist in the development of criteria for modification proposals (AF Form 1067) for temporary (T1, T2) and permanent modifications to fielded USAF systems.
Coordination of activities related to aircraft Operational Test (OT), and Developmental Test (DT).
Completion of workbook defined by MIL-HDBK-516C (expanded), Airworthiness Certification Criteria.
Ability to create and present briefings to customers and internal stakeholders.
Assist as a point of contact (POC) for Air Combat Command (ACC) support questions between the Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Test Center (AATC) and the System Program Office (SPO) for integration and test work and approval as required.
Assist Contracting Officer Representative (COR) with day-to-day tasking as required for A-10 and other ACC platforms for commonality as tasks arise to facilitate the government program manager.
Assist in the install and integration efforts for testing on AATC Detachment A-10’s.
Provide systems engineering support and test support for all ARC MDS platforms and support apparatus for CSAR systems, sub-systems, datalinks, targeting and communications systems analysis.
Provide support to the Battlefield Airman (BA) director as needed on various ancillary projects.
Assist with all documentation support including engineering test plans, engineering test reports, engineering drawings, and any required technical memorandums.
The CSAR SME will submit MSR’s (Monthly Status Reports) to GMRE headquarters by the 10th day of every month.
The MSR will include employee’s name, supported MDS, a maximum of 5 bullet points for significant events for the month, travel for the past month and any significant events and activities for the next 60 days.
The CSAR SME will support the AATC Commander as needed on various ancillary projects.

Requirements: REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES Demonstrated knowledge of creating Integrated Master Schedules with MS Project.
Demonstrated knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and metrics reporting.
Technical knowledge of avionics systems, datalinks, and sensors.
Demonstrated knowledge of USAF Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) as applied for operational support and weapons system sustainment.
Understanding of modification requirements for aircraft (e.
g.
, Air Force Instruction 10-601, Operational Capability Requirements Development).
Understanding requirements for attaining approved AFMC Form 272, Physical Configuration Inspection (PCI) Report and AFMC Form 273, Final Release for Flight Certificate.
Understanding of cybersecurity requirements as defined by the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) for Platform Information Technology (PIT) systems.
Understanding of steps and requirements to achieve approvals related to interoperability (e.
g.
, Air Force Systems Interoperability Test (AFSIT)).
Knowledge of activities required to attain a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for modified aircraft a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Science required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience on engineering projects with a demonstrated progression of responsibility from technical leadership to overall project responsibility such as Cost Account Manager (CAM) on a government contract.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS Must have U.
S.
citizenship, and an active Secret security clearance.
Failure to maintain the required level of security clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The work is generally sedentary, there will be some recurring periods of maintaining equipment which may require employee to lift equipment, stand, walk, stretch, bend, reach, and stoop for short periods of time, requiring only moderate physical ability and physical stress.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
TRAVEL REQUIRED This position may require travel up to 50% of the time from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS locations and may include remote or isolated sites.
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time to fulfill contract requirements.
