We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat.
Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
Job Summary: Integrated Solutions Modeling & Architecture (ISMA) directorate develops, evaluates, and implements architecture solutions for our customers’ largest, most complex challenges across all operational domains.
We define and develop novel solutions to emerging operational needs, push the boundaries of innovation to establish next generation mission solutions, and chart a course for Raytheon and our customers you will be proud to look back on.
Supporting this mission are teams driving flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics and operations), developing tools and methods to execute system-level studies and visualization based on customer requirements.
As a Senior Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer, you will work with a team on designing experiments for large-scale data analysis, developing software to run various simulations, analyzing output from the simulations, and participating in challenging multi-disciplinary operations research analysis projects across integrated product teams.
You will learn government-provided mission-level simulations like AFSIM and EADSIM and/or engagement-level simulations like Brawler, ESAMS, and RADGUNS.
You will partner with Performance Simulations teams to integrate a missile’s flight simulation into the model and/or with Signal Processing as you add sensors and other effects into the simulation.
You will contribute to system modeling and data analysis activities for the purposes of supporting new business, missile system design and tradeoffs, survivability assessments, and flight tests according and/to the program schedule.
Responsibilities to Anticipate: You will support a modeling and simulation team in the development and maintenance of a software toolset that interfaces with various simulations, conduct analysis of data produced by the simulations, and generate visualizations to inform internal and external customers the results.
You will participate in the development and implementation of model-based solutions to support mission trade studies using mission- and engagement-level simulations and ensure they meet defined requirements and performance.
You will contribute your knowledge of performance engineering practices, and procedures, to evaluate work across a wide range of intriguing computational problems to answer questions such as: what should be the next system improvement; or what is the effectivity of the missile against a single or multiple threats; or what countermeasures should be considered to increase effectivity and/or survivability and other operational performance related questions.
You will contribute and collaborate in a team environment, receiving inputs from the program, external customers, or team experts, and work on diverse projects as you determine, develop, and implement analytic approaches that will generate the supporting data to inform programmatic decisions.
You will provide simulation and modeling and analysis development support throughout the product lifecycle.
You will mentor and grow ISMA’s ability to develop and maintain the software toolset and troubleshoot issues with the government-provided models.
Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in operations research, Engineering, Science, Physics, or Mathematics and a minimum of five (5) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in Systems Engineering or Operation Research, with specific experience in the following areas.
Experience in Python development skills to support development of scripts and visualizations.
Experience in applying software development processes and object-oriented design using Python, MATLAB, C/C++, and/or Fortran to either add new capabilities to the software toolset or determine issues with the underlying provided models.
Experience in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python to set up large-scale simulation runs or develop tools for data analysis.
Experience in software requirements development, design, integration, and test.
Experience using Unix or Linux computing environments.
Experience in debugging software to evaluate government-provided models for errors and adding new and complex capabilities to the models such and networking, swarming, or other advance effects.
