Purchased from an antique dealer in Boston in 1989.
They were sold as antiques (i.
e.
greater than 100 years old) at that time.
No makers marks that we can find.
These were used in our fireplace for about 15-20 years since then.
We leaned them on the side of the fireplace resting in two jamb hooks, not included.
There is a poker, an ash shovel, and a tong that actually works to move burning logs around.
The last thing this elderly gentleman said to me when I left his store was: “Whatever you do don’t clean them.
More antiques are ruined by cleaning than anything else”.
I promised him I wouldn’t, and I haven’t as you can see.
The pieces are each about 26” in length.
The shovel is about 5-1/4” at the widest point.
We also have antique andirons for sale.
We love combo deals.
