What you will do Support Payroll team in tasks to ensure timely Payroll processing and meeting all regulatory and reporting requirements.
Process company payroll utilizing established process and reporting systems, and detailed procedures, with the guidance of more senior Payroll Administrators.
Perform account reconciliation for Payroll accounts monthly.
Assist Accounting Team with month-end processes as needed.
What you bring 2 years+ in Payroll, accounting, or other business-related position (in-house payroll experience highly preferred) Familiarity with Payroll, W2, and 1099 reporting rules.

Full job description below: Responsible for the following processes in the Payroll business area: computing wage and overtime payments, recording payroll deductions, processing requests for paycheck advances, and processing terminations.
Includes weekly processing of bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies.
Position-Related Responsibilities Payroll Administrator I: · Perform assigned tasks promptly, meeting all deadlines.
· Support Payroll team in tasks to ensure timely Payroll processing and meeting all regulatory and reporting requirements.
· Process company payroll utilizing established process and reporting systems, and detailed procedures, with the guidance of more senior Payroll Administrators.
· Perform a wide variety of record-keeping and payroll processing activities, including processing expense statements, payroll corrections, and terminations.
· Support outside vendor and internal department requests, and develop good working relationships.
· Query and report on data in various systems regarding Payroll data.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· Support more senior Payroll Administrators in research for special projects · Maintain confidentiality for all matters related to payroll employee records and corporate information.
· Responsible for payroll processing of UES Payroll · Support the Payroll Department with maintaining digital records in the Document Management System.
· Process garnishments and levies.
· Process terminations, calculating and preparing final paychecks · Process tax payments · This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
Payroll Administrator II: · Perform all responsibilities of Payroll Administrator I.
· Process TEP Payroll and troubleshoots any outliers during the process.
· Perform account reconciliation for Payroll accounts monthly.
· Assist Accounting Team with month-end processes as needed.
· Research and prepare ad hoc reports for management.
· Process all special payments, relocation reimbursements, bonuses, and awards.
· Train less experienced Payroll Administrators.
· Review work of other Payroll Administrators when performing Payroll functions.
· This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
Payroll Administrator, Senior: · Perform all responsibilities of Payroll Administrators I and II.
· Serve as a resource for Payroll Administrators I and II performing payroll processing.
· Serve as liaison between Payroll and teams in utilizing and maintaining all Payroll-related systems.
· Serve as a reviewer of documents related to payroll processing.
· Assists other business areas in the analysis of payroll data utilizing PeopleSoft and BI queries.
· Develop test plans and test scripts and manage testing during the implementation of new Payroll-related systems and/or the enhancement of existing systems.
This includes the modules within the Payroll systems, as well as, the external feeder systems.
· Evaluate system issues and works with Business Apps Team to determine appropriate solutions.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the Payroll-related data flows and responds to users’ questions.
· Prepare quarterly tax reconciliation and filing processes to meet statutory Federal, State, and Local deadlines · Review and approve a wide variety of payroll processing activities, including the processing of off-cycle checks, ACH returns, back pay awards and upgrades, and processing terminations.
· This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
· Top level individual contributor; often integrates multiple phases of a project.
Leads several complex projects or issues at the same time and assists other departments on complex initiatives as a representative of Payroll functions and requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
) Level I – Minimum Qualifications · High school diploma or GED.
· Requires an understanding of accounting, Payroll, and attention to detail.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with strong verbal and interpersonal skills (via face-to-face and emails).
· Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word Preferred Qualifications · An understanding of the Company's policies, procedures, and labor contracts.
· Familiarity with Payroll, W2, and 1099 reporting rules.
· Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
· Working knowledge of a time management systems · Working knowledge of HRMS System Level II – Minimum Qualifications · Minimum Requirements of Level I · 2 years+ in Payroll, accounting, or other business-related position · Familiarity with Payroll, W2, and 1099 reporting rules.
· Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
· Working knowledge of a time management systems · Working knowledge of HRMS · AA Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or closely related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
· Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Intermediate level or higher using Microsoft Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word Preferred Qualifications · Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field · Strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills · Intermediate level or higher using reporting tools · Intermediate level or higher using an HRMS system · Intermediate level or higher using a time and labor management systems · APA Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or APA Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation Senior Level - Minimum Qualifications Minimum Requirements of Level II 4 years+ in Payroll, accounting Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to analyze and document processes to make enhancements.
